EnergyMeter – Check Your Energy Across Five Key Areas
We use the EnergyMeter to help you see how full your “batteries” are in five important areas of life. Your energy is reflected in how filled each battery is. If one battery is very low, it affects everything else.
- Physical Fitness: How fit are you? Consider your strength, endurance, mobility, and weight. Are you in balance physically? Fill in this battery according to how you feel. Small actions can make a big difference: gentle exercise, yoga, strength training, walking, running programs, or adjusting nutrition.
- Mental Fitness: How busy is your mind? How resilient are you? Can you handle new demands, or do you feel overwhelmed easily? Notice signs like irritability, anxiety, or fatigue. Recharge your mental battery with breaks, outdoor time, creative or hands-on activities like gardening, crafts, or playing music. Remember: pushing on when mentally drained leads to burnout. Give yourself permission to rest.
- Work Enjoyment: Does your work energize you, or drain you? Consider your tasks, colleagues, office atmosphere, and hours. Identify what’s draining you and explore adjustments: changing tasks, delegating, or shifting focus. If the work itself doesn’t fit you, it may be time to explore other opportunities.
- Private Life: How is your home life, relationships, family, or caregiving responsibilities? Are there areas where you feel drained or dissatisfied? Take steps where you can: communicate, seek therapy, set boundaries, or ask for help. Sometimes, tough decisions are needed for long-term happiness.
- Meaning & Purpose: Are the things you do aligned with your values? Do your tasks, work, or activities bring you joy, satisfaction, or a sense of contribution? If not, explore ways to create meaning: volunteering, new projects, hobbies, or activities that bring fulfillment. Your sense of purpose fuels your energy and resilience.
Fill in all five batteries honestly. Then pause, reflect, and consider: what adjustments can you make to recharge your batteries and increase your resilience? Small, consistent steps in these areas lead to higher energy, better balance, and improved wellbeing.
Wishing you great success as you explore and refill your EnergyMeter!
